Strong Independents officially registered for the 2024 ACT Legislative Assembly election

"Strong Independents has officially been entered on the register of political parties in the ACT and is now eligible to nominate candidates for the 2024 ACT Legislative Assembly election," the ACT Electoral Commissioner, Damian Cantwell AM CSC, said today.

The registration took effect from today 4 June 2024.

There are currently fifteen political parties registered to contest the October 2024 election:

• Animal Justice Party
• Australian Labor Party (ACT Branch)
• Belco Party (ACT)
• Canberra Progressives
• David Pollard Independent
• Democratic Labour Party (DLP)
• Family First Party (ACT)
• Independents for Canberra
• Liberal Democratic Party
• Liberal Party of Australia (A.C.T. Division)
• Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party (ACT)
• Strong Independents
• Sustainable Australia Party - Stop Overdevelopment / Corruption
• The ACT Greens
• The Community Action Party (ACT)

Any political parties that are not yet registered for the October 2024 ACT election have until 30 June 2024 to lodge an application with the ACT Electoral Commissioner.
