The Independents for Canberra have applied to change the party’s abbreviation, Registered Officer and Secretary in the register of political parties in the ACT, the ACT Electoral Commissioner, Mr Damian Cantwell AM CSC, said today.

"The application is seeking to change the abbreviation from IND FOR CBR to IFC, to change the Registered Officer of the party from Clare Carnell to Robert Knight, and to change the Secretary of the party from Thomas Emerson to Leigh Cox." Mr Cantwell said.

Anyone wishing to object to the changes may lodge a written objection with the Electoral Commissioner by 30 May 2024.

A notice inviting objections to the changes has been published on the ACT Legislation Register, on the webpages for both ACT Open Government and Elections ACT.

A copy of the application and the constitution of the party are available for public inspection at the office of the Commissioner between 9.00am and 5.00pm on business days.

Further information on party registration can be viewed on the Parties page.
