Physical attendance of the event is also available to ACT election candidates, members of the media and the public, subject to mandated COVID safety limits. RSVP required beforehand.

What occurs?

Names of the nominated candidates and, where relevant, their political party affiliations will be publicly announced first. This will be followed by a ‘double randomisation’ draw for each electorate to determine the order in which each party will appear on the ballot paper.

A further draw will then take place to determine the starting order for the Robson rotations in each column. The order resulting from this draw will be used by Elections ACT when it publishes sample ballot papers.

Under the Robson rotation system, 60 different versions of the ballot papers will be printed for each electorate.
