2008 ACT Election financial returns available

Financial disclosure returns relating to the 2008 ACT Legislative Assembly election have been released for public inspection. These returns can be viewed at the office of the ACT Electoral Commission or on this website. View the media release. (link updated 6 April 2009)

4 March 2009 marks twenty years since first ACT election

This year marks twenty years of self-government in the ACT, including the twentieth anniversary of the first ACT Legislative Assembly election. View the media release. (link updated 27 February 2009)

The ACT Electoral Commission has moved

The office of the ACT Electoral Commission has moved to a new location. From Tuesday 24 February, the new office location is:

Civic Square, London Circuit
Canberra City ACT 2601

The office postal address and phone numbers remain the same.

2007/2008 Financial disclosure annual returns now available for viewing

Financial disclosure returns for ACT political parties, Members of the ACT Legislative Assembly, associated entities and donors to political parties for the 2007/2008 financial year were released on 2 February 2009. These returns can be inspected here. (link updated 2 February 2009)

Disclosure and expenditure returns relating to the 2008 ACT Legislative Assembly election are due to be submitted to the Electoral Commissioner by 2 February 2009, and will be made available for public inspection on 6 April 2009.

Apparent failure to vote notices

The non-voter process for the 2008 ACT Legislative Assembly has commenced.

If you have received a letter regarding your apparent failure to vote, and believe you have a valid reason for not voting or you did in fact vote, provide all the necessary information to Elections ACT by completing the back of the letter and returning the letter in the supplied reply paid envelope. If you did not vote and wish to pay the fine, you can do so on the Canberra Connect website.
