Sustainable Australia (ACT) applies to change its abbreviation to “Sustainable Australia – Stop overdevelopment. Stop corruption.”

Sustainable Australia (ACT) has applied to change its official abbreviation from “Sustainable Australia” to “Sustainable Australia – Stop overdevelopment. Stop corruption.” Mr Damian Cantwell AM, ACT Electoral Commissioner, said today.

As a result of this change, Sustainable Australia (ACT) will have the choice of two names that it will be able to use on ballot papers at the October 2020 ACT election:

  • Sustainable Australia (ACT); or
  • Sustainable Australia - Stop overdevelopment. Stop corruption.

Anyone wishing to object to the change to the abbreviation of Sustainable Australia (ACT) may lodge a written objection with the Electoral Commissioner by 19 March 2020.

A notice inviting objections to the change of abbreviation was published on the ACT Legislation Register, on the ACT Open Government webpage and on Elections ACT’s website on Thursday 5 March 2020.

A copy of the application and the constitution of the party are available for public inspection at the office of the Commissioner between 9.00am and 5.00pm on business days.
