The 2021 election to elect 7 members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body for the ACT concluded on 22 July 2021.

Counting for the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body election took place on Wednesday 21 July 2021, using the Hare-Clark proportional representation system.  A total of 267 votes were admitted to the count.

Eighteen candidates contested the election.  Voting for the election took place during the week starting Saturday 3 July and concluded on Saturday 10 July 2021.  Any Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander aged 18 or over, living in the ACT, was eligible to vote in the election.

The successful candidates in the order in which they were elected were:

  1. Tanya Michelle KEED
  2. Lynnice CHURCH
  3. Maurice WALKER
  4. Margaret BLACKMAN
  5. Jo CHIVERS
  6. Leah HOUSE
  7. Paula McGRADY

The official declaration of the poll took place at 10am, Thursday 22 July 2021, at Boomanulla Oval, 169 Goyder St, Narrabundah ACT.

Casual vacancies:

Since the July 2021 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body election there have been three casual vacancies.

Mr Jacob Keed resigned on 15 September 2023 and was replaced, via a count back of Ms Margaret Blackman's ballot papers, by Ms Helen Wright.

Ms Leah House resigned on 4 April 2023 and was replaced, via a count back of Ms House's ballot papers, by Ms Deanne Booth.

Ms Margaret Blackman resigned on 15 January 2023 and was replaced, via a count back of Ms Blackman’s ballot papers, by Mr Jacob Keed.
