Enrol to Vote

All Australian citizens over 18 are required by law to enrol and vote.

You can enrol if you are 16 or over but you can’t vote until you turn 18.

Remember, it is a legal requirement to update your enrolment when your details change. If you don’t, you could be removed from the electoral roll and be unable to vote.

Funding and Disclosure

The Election Funding and Disclosure (FAD) scheme has two parts, as defined in the Electoral Act 1992. The first relates to providing election funding to election participants. The second relates to financial disclosure by election participants. The ACT scheme is similar to that used for Commonwealth elections.
