Financial disclosure returns for ACT political parties, non-party candidates and third‑party campaigners for the 2012 ACT Legislative Assembly election were released today by the Acting ACT Electoral Commissioner, Andrew Moyes.

“The returns show details of electoral expenditure by election participants.  For non‑party candidates and third party campaigners the returns also show details of gifts received,” Mr Moyes said.

The 2012 election returns are the first election returns to be published under the amendments to the Electoral Act that took effect on 1 July 2012.  “In previous elections all candidates were required to complete returns.  Details of expenditure by party candidates are now included in the relevant party return,” Mr Moyes said. 

The returns can be inspected on the ACT Electoral Commission’s website or in person at the office of the Electoral Commissioner on the Ground Floor, North Building, Civic Square, London Circuit, Canberra City between 9:00am and 5:00pm on weekdays.  For public enquiries phone 6205 0033.
