13 candidates to stand for the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body election

“13 candidates have nominated for next week’s ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body election”, the ACT Electoral Commissioner, Phillip Green, said today.

Following the close of nominations yesterday, Mr Green publicly declared the nominations at midday today and conducted the draw for positions on the ballot paper.

The candidates' names, in the order they will appear on the ballot paper, are:

There are seven positions on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body and the election will be conducted using the Hare-Clark proportional representation system.

To be eligible to vote electors must be an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander, be at least 18 years old and be on, or eligible to be on, the ACT electoral roll.

Polling will commence on Monday 16 June and will continue until Saturday 21 June at the times and places listed below.
