Time running out to enrol to vote in ACT election - Electoral rolls close today

Published 17 Sep 2004

Canberrans have until 8 pm tonight to make sure that they are enrolled to vote in the October 16 ACT election.

The ACT Electoral Commissioner, Mr Phil Green, today reminded ACT voters that the roll is about to close and only those on the roll would be able to vote in next month's election.

"Tonight at 8 pm is the cut-off for enrolment," Mr Green said. "We are not able to include any enrolments received after that time."

Completed forms must be received by an Electoral Office by the cut-off time, not just posted by then. Forms can be delivered to Elections ACT at 48-56 Allara St, Civic, or to the Australian Electoral Commission at 8-10 Hobart Place, Civic, up to 8 pm tonight.

Enrolment forms can also be faxed to 6205 0382.

Enrolment forms are available from Post Offices, ACT Shopfronts, electoral offices, or can be printed from the Commission's website

Those voters who updated their enrolment for the federal election do not have to do so again for the ACT election.
