ACT Equality Party registered for ACT Legislative Assembly elections

The Gungahlin Equality Party has changed its name to the ACT Equality Party on the ACT's Register of Political Parties, the ACT Electoral Commissioner, Phil Green, announced today.

The change of the name was officially recorded today, following a public consultation period.

Another change to the ACT Register of Political Parties took place on 7 January 2003 when the registration of the Nurses Good Government Party was cancelled, following a request from the party.

The parties currently registered to contest ACT Legislative Assembly elections are:

  • ACT Equality Party
  • Australian Democrats
  • Australian Labor Party, Australian Capital Territory
  • Canberra First Party
  • Liberal Democratic Party
  • Liberal Party of Australia, (A.C.T. Division)
  • The ACT Greens
