Elections ACT is an independent statutory authority responsible for conducting elections and referendums for the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly. Our mission is to provide the ACT community with high quality electoral services that ensure fair and open elections and referendums.
What's new at Elections ACT?
The online postal vote application for the 2008 ACT Legislative Assembly election is now available
Postal vote applications can now be made via the Electoral Commission's online application page. Postal votes are able to be applied for by those electors on the ACT electoral roll who expect to be unable to attend a polling place on polling day or a pre-poll voting centre before polling day. Postal voting is also available to electors whose address has been suppressed on the ACT electoral roll. (link updated 1 August 2008)
The Community Alliance Party (ACT) changed its abbreviation
The Community Alliance Party (ACT) has changed its official abbreviation from CAP to Community Alliance. (updated 29 July 2008)
New political party registered for 2008 ACT election- Nine parties registered for the election

Liberal Democratic Party changed its abbreviation
