All Australian citizens over 18 are required by law to enrol and vote.
You can enrol if you are 16 or over but you can’t vote until you turn 18.
Remember, it is a legal requirement to update your enrolment when your details change. If you don’t, you could be removed from the electoral roll and be unable to vote.
The Electoral Act 1992 requires a redistribution of electoral boundaries before each general election for the ACT Legislative Assembly. For more information see our Redistribution Factsheet.
